Kabanjak & Fat Albert Einstein - Dub O’ Dup EP
Namaste,
I hope that you’re feeling well! Today I would like to present you a record called “Dub O’ Dup EP” by my label mates Kabanjak & Fat Albert Einstein. Both are producers that I really admire despite the fact that we’re sharing the same label. They met during the good old days of MySpace (yes, this seems like a thousand years ago counted in internet-time) and from then they’ve built their musical relationship brick by brick. This led to the release of Fat Al’s “After The Beep” album on Switchstance Recordings, which was released during the last steps of finishing my record. The attitude of this piece struck me and opened another ways of thinking!

If you’re a fan of classic Dub & Roots Reggae you need to take a listen to the EP. Kabanjak & Fat Albert created a record in the spirit of Dub pioneers like King Tubby, Lee “Scratch” Perry and Augustus Pablo, playing everything live on this EP, driving the sounds through space echoes and vintage speakers, recording it onto tape and transfering it back again to the computer. The live drums served by Fat Al are a great example of his artistic vision, while Kabanjak plays Guitars & Bass like he belonged to the Upsetters since Day One.

The EP is out now on Switchstance Recordings
and there is also a Remix Competition held. The deadline for the contest is July 20th, so you have still enough time to rock a remix. The Ancient Astronauts made a remix too, so check it out!
Do you feel it? What do you think?
I wish you a sincere time,
Astroboter
